Spring Break, A Peek At The Beginning And End!

I started off Spring Break in town and decided that I was going to see some of the sights.  Spring Break started at the end of Fur Rondy and at the beginning of the Iditarod which means there are usually snow and ice sculptures around town.
Here are a few of them that I thought were note worthy.

This was a nice ice sculpture of a wolf.
Some of these were pretty nice and others well...
take a look and see what you think.

Some really nice ice salmon!

And a nice mastodon snow sculpture.

But what in the world is this?  I can't seem to figure it out, do you
have any ideas?

Hmmm...he's interesting!

This is suppose to be a bear in an outhouse.  Why do bears need an outhouse?
Oh well, he actually seems to look more like a pig.  That's what happens when
the sun does its magic!

I liked the crab.  I love to eat them as well!!!

The last snow sculpture was of Jesus.  I think one of the churches in town sculpted this.
Good job for a first try.

After the cold I had to warm up, so I headed over to Alaska Mill & Feed.  This
store is close by and they carry a lot of garden items and some cute odds and ends.

Like these super cute aprons!!  I love all the colors.
They all look great together and it would be hard to just pick one.
If I had to choose I think I would go for the polka dot apron or
maybe the light blue apron.
Maybe I will have to go back.

They also had some really cute stuffed animals.  The colors were wonderful.

And who doesn't need some peanut erasers!!

There were also a ton of garden decorations.  After looking at all the snow sculptures
the colors just really
made me smile.

And she is adorable.

I did a lot of different things during Spring Break and I will share them with you over the next few
days.  Some beautiful photos from Seward and my walks on that beach.
I also took a lot of pictures of lovely things around the house that I will post.
This blog shows you the very beginning and the very end.
Why the end?  Well, I went up to see Heidi!!  and no I didn't dust!  I think she has such a cute
house, and I love her kitchen!!  So many beautiful things  to see.
So a special thank you to Heidi!
Thank you for your tea and awesome cake!!!
But most of all thank you for being such a wonderful friend!!

I brought up some Japanese marbling paper medium so Mimi could create some beautiful paper.
Mimi is a sweetheart, I love her!!!

Some marbling paints.

A tub filled with water and Japanese oils.
The end product is beautiful paper.
Mimi and her brother ended up with some really pretty  papers.
Here is a picture of some I made later.  Their paper was
sooooo much prettier than mine!!

Before I left Mimi gave me some paper gifts!
These are precious!   Thank you for making these for me Mimi!!
I love them!!!

This was the beginning and the end of my break.
I will share more I promise.

Fianlly God Bless You all.  It's good to be back!
Please keep the Japanese people in your prayers!
