When you see these conk mushrooms on a tree its a very good indication
that the tree has heart rot. The fungi enter the tree through
wounds in the bark and decay the heartwood inside.
The diseased heartwood softens and the results is that the tree
becomes weaker and becomes more prone to breakage.
Not good but what interesting mushrooms. I like the green growth on top of the first one. Very interesting and a beautiful shot.
