Alaskan Sunset

It's very cold in Alaska right now.  Up north in Fairbanks they are
setting a new record for low temperatures for this
time of the year.  Fairbanks has had a tough week of minus 37 below!!!

People are out buying warmer coats and boots.  There is a great
need to buy gear that exceeds 12 below temperatures to stay warm!!

Definitely no need for air conditioners in Alaska!!

Right now it's 11 degrees in Anchorage, so compared to Fairbanks we are
in the tropics!!!

Nevertheless cold can be beautiful!!!  Enjoy this beautiful sunset overlooking
Cook Inlet in the warmth of your own home.

When Captain Cook originally sailed in he could only enter the front of the inlet,
because a glacier was in his path.

Stay warm everyone!!

  1. Gorgeous! But I'm not in the least bit jealous of your weather :)

    Keep warm!

  2. Minus 37??? I cannot fathom that in Fahrenheit and have to look up the Celsius gage on that one. It sounds pretty d... awful though! ;-)
What an absolutely amazing picture you have posted!!!!

  3. Oh my, that is indeed spectacular! Burrr, that temperature is too cold to even think about.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  4. What a beautiful photo Christine!
Sounds incredibly cold where you are, we are still experiencing quite mild weather here for the time of year, in fact this morning whilst dog walking there were some tree branches with a mix of brown leaves about to fall, green leaves not yet turned, and, believe it or not, BUDS! Nature confused or what??!
    Keep warm!
