The Nobel Discoverer Oil Rig


This drilling rig will be transported to Korea for repairs.  
One of the issues involves possible damage to a propeller or 
shaft.  I love all the colors this oil rig brings to Seward's Harbor.

    The colors are beautiful...Isn't it strange that it has to go all the way to Korea..hmm.

    I know it is strange Sherri. Even stranger is the boat that will be transporting it there. That boat has a lifting capacity of over 76,000 metric tons, and is semi-submersible ship. It will lift the oil rig and basically carry it to Korea. It's basically its own off shore dry dock!
